Janice Lynde was born in Texas but raised in Louisiana, Lake Charles before she headed off to hollywood to begin her career in entertainment. She began learning to pay the piano at the tender age of 4 as well as taking dancing lessons. Janice Lynde began playing the piano and singing on tour at 10 years old, and went on to received a scholarship to the Actors Studio in New York where her career really begun to take off.
Janice appeared on Broadway after the Actors Studio with Butterflies are Free with Anne Baxter. Janice soon began to get nominated for various awards and won 2 OBIE titles for her talent in Sambo and Picnic. Eager to use her powerful operatic singing voice Janice appeared in The Merry Widow.
The Young and the Restless TV program earned Janice Lynde an Emmy nomination for the best actress. As well as the 4 titles of Most Popular Female Daytime Television Star for The Young and the Restless, Janice received a further Emmy nomination for One Life to Live. She continued to appear in many other primetime productions such as Quincy, The odd Couple and Roxy.
As Janice’s career progressed she entered the field of feature films in titles like Missing Pieces and Pretty Woman. Janice Lynde most recent appearance was in Six Feet Under throughout 2004 - 2005.
